Ananda

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 September 2026

This policy explains how the Ananda mobile application handles information. Ananda is developed and published by Venkatakrishnan Srinivasan, Bangalore, India.

Ananda does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. There is no account, no login, and no registration. Everything the app creates stays on your device.

Information we do not collect

The app has no user accounts and no server that holds information about you.

Microphone access

Ananda includes a chromatic tuner. To detect the pitch of the note you are singing or playing, the app needs access to your device's microphone.

Audio captured for tuning is processed entirely on your device, in real time, and is not stored. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or with anyone else. The app uses the audio only to calculate pitch and show it on screen.

You can decline or withdraw microphone permission at any time in your device settings. The tuner will not work without it; every other part of the app will continue to work normally.

Practice recordings

Ananda lets you record your practice sessions. Recordings are saved locally on your device and remain under your control.

Recordings are not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we have no access to them. If you choose to share a recording using your device's sharing options, that sharing is handled by your device and by the app or service you send it to, under that service's own privacy policy.

You can delete recordings inside the app, and removing the app deletes the recordings it stored, subject to how your device handles app data.

Purchases

Ananda offers an optional in-app purchase that unlocks additional features.

Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play on Android and by the Apple App Store on iOS. We never see or receive your card details, billing address, or any other payment information. The store tells the app only whether a purchase is active.

Your payment information is governed by Google's and Apple's privacy policies, not by this one.

Third-party services

Ananda includes no third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting services.

Advertising

Ananda shows no advertisements and uses no advertising identifier.

Children's privacy

Ananda is a general-audience music practice tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Security

No personal data is collected or transmitted, so there is no user data held by us that could be exposed in a breach of our systems. What the app creates — your recordings and settings — is stored locally and protected by your device's own security.

Your rights

Data protection laws, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, give you rights over personal data held about you, such as the right to access it, correct it, or have it deleted.

As we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, amend, or erase. Data stored on your device stays under your control and can be deleted by you at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app changes — for example, if a future version introduces analytics, advertising, or a feature that needs an account. If that happens we will revise this page and update the date above before the relevant version of the app is released.
