Ananda is a daily riyaz companion for Hindustani classical music — tanpura, tabla, swarmandal and manjira in one app, recorded from real instruments.
Ananda is not on the stores yet. The Android closed test opens soon, and we are looking for musicians to practise with it.
What is inside
Tanpuraतानपुरा
Studio recordings of a real tanpura, tuned to your sa. Choose the pitch, the jod, and how far apart the strings fall. It holds for as long as you practise.
Tablaतबला
Teental, ektaal, jhaptaal, rupak and more, played on a real tabla rather than synthesised. Set the lay, change the theka, and it keeps time without drifting.
Swarmandalस्वरमंडल
A thirty-six string swarmandal, sampled note by note. Set it to the raag you are singing and sweep across it between phrases, the way a vocalist would.
Tunerट्यूनर
Sing or play a note and see it as a swar, not only as a frequency. Set your sa once and the tuner reads everything relative to it.
Recordingरिकॉर्डिंग
Record a session and listen back to it later. Recordings stay on your phone — nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Join the closed test
Before Ananda can go on the Play Store, a small group of musicians needs to practise with it for a couple of weeks and tell us what breaks. If you do daily riyaz on an Android phone, we would like your ears.
